PHOENIX H37"XW73"XD1.75"
Commission - 2014
acrylic + multi-media with resin on canvas

My client's wish-list included a bright color palette and a desire for combined abstract and landscape elements in her painting. Her incredible furnishings and textures pointed me towards an equally BOLD and vibrant addition on her wall to compliment her growing eclectic art collection.

PHOENIX is a mythical bird that is a fire spirit, never dies and flies far ahead to the front. It is always scanning the landscape and distant space. To me, this description perfectly depicts my client's spirit and zest for life and living.

This painting is laboriously and distinctively textured. Each bump and groove spoke to me. I followed. As I intensively scraped at these layers I emulated the power and indiscriminate weathering of Mother Nature’s elements. I used my fingers, sticks, palette knives and large brushes.

This one is sold but thank you for considering to collect my works.

Proudly Canadian. My studio in Toronto, Canada. I paint distinctively textured abstracts and landscape abstracts. Acrylic sealed with Resin on canvas or wood panels. I am happiest in Mother Nature. She has been my art teacher; Memories of paddling 46 days on canoe trip in the Canadian wilderness, extensive travels and the motherhood all find their way onto my canvas.
