THE FEAST For more than seven thousand years, Cats have held significant value to different civilizations. Ancient Egyptians depended on cats to look after crops while living with the house wives. As years and generations passed, people have become sympathetic towards cats and have established emotional bonds, even with street cats. I grew up watching my mother offering food to the cats in our neighborhood, the cats started to know my mother as soon as they saw her or even heard her voice, I grew intrigued just by watching those cats with their movement, their friendly fights over food, and their every reaction. My mother’s plates are the main items reflected in my paintings they symbolize livelihood as a feast in dark room, interspersed with strong light to represent the forthcoming of hope and blessing.
