About The Artwork

In this painting, a group of majestic Californian fan palm trees takes center stage, exuding an aura of dominance and strength. These towering trees command attention against a backdrop of an enchanting, fantasy-filled sky. The sky is a breathtaking symphony of colors, with waves ranging from light turquoise to deep sky blue hues. This captivating color palette evokes a sense of tranquility and wonder, inviting the viewer into a dreamlike world. Adding depth to the composition, the lower left to middle bottom of the painting is adorned with waves of yellowish-brown tones. These earthy hues create a sense of grounding and balance, offering a contrast to the ethereal quality of the sky. It conjures up a feeling of coexistence between the otherworldly and the earthly elements in this imaginary landscape. The powerful presence of the Californian fan palm trees, reaching towards the heavens, symbolizes resilience and growth. The vibrant and varied colors of the sky evoke a sense of boundless imagination and the limitless possibilities of a world beyond reality. The blending of these elements in an imaginary landscape transports the viewer to a realm where dreams intertwine with reality.

I am a Swiss artist from the region of Fribourg, Western Switzerland. The cubist representation of urban and industrial subjects in the artworks of the American painters Charles Sheeler, Charles Demuth and partially Edward Hopper, influenced me a lot at the time, making me approach this artistic style. Since then the city and nature, in all its forms, remains a great source of inspiration for me. Through my artworks, I exploit the figurative and graphic style close to abstraction but also realism. Oil paint is the essential material I use for my creations, in some cases I use other media and techniques such as acrylic, ink, charcoal, collage and screen printing.
