Papalag pa! Painting

The artwork is about the will to fight and continue to live in a society of uncertainty. This expression shows on whatever may come to our lives, us Filipinos handle and cope-up with a smug face saying that we're still here and will continue to live. The man in the painting is a representation of a hardworking Filipino, with wounds and dirt all over his shirt showing his struggles. While the flower growing out of it represents the healing process but you can see in the background the vines creeping around represents the carelessness of what is happening to today's society and the impunities in these pandemic times. Somewhere in the future if we keep on continuing to live like these and turn our cheeks from these problems, it seems like the healing process doesn't have any value anymore. It is amazing that we Filipinos can still live and survive from the uncertainty of the society. The truths have been revealed; the impunities of the corrupt and the evil within; if some of us doesn't have the power and enough courage to fight back face to face then we'll look at them, with a conceited-wrinkled face, saying "Is that all you've got?"
