Nina van Alphen is a Dutch artist based in New York. Born in the Netherlands, she attended the prestigious Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1994. After her art education, she decided to “paint from life” and started exploring the world. She traveled through Europe and the United States, supporting herself by selling her artworks to private collectors. She settled in New York in 2001 and continued to paint. Nina’s art explores what makes people who they are, their stories, their true face, and their guarded hidden side. The artworks studies and reflects the integral parts of society and the complexity of the human soul. Nina explores how art can function as a mode for understanding our relationship to the world. “Nina’s artworks are narrative poems of live.” " I am not an activist, but I do like to make people’s mind wander.
