ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The TU Delft (technical University) has a huge collection of chairs for educational purpose. Every year a few of these chairs are chosen as start for a new study assignment. I was invited to exhibit my works along with the students designs (Tables, chairs and lamps, students at work). Berkovich's chair was one of them this year. I made this chair part of my serie 'Pas de deux'. This serie contains all design chairs with I double and then connect in some way like a dancing pair, thats wy they're titled 'Pas de Deux'. The work is delivered ready to hang.

Ever since I can remember I'm drawing although I had no examples whatsoever in my childhood. I grew up on a small farm near Venlo in the the south of the Netherlands. The urge to draw finally lead to the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg where I graduated in 1990 in drawing and painting.From that time on I am working on a collection mostly dominated by chairs depicted in very different ways. Perspective and perception are crucial elements in this never ending quest. These works are drawn with pencil or painted with watercolor. Still driven by my urge to draw.
