During the pandemic, I was struck by the brilliance of isolating....a time of reflection on what "normal" was and how no one felt or acted normal...In the absence of our daily "normal" lives...it gave me time with no distractions to focus on the next phase, the next chapter and my "Passage" series began. Choosing bold layering, textures and colors with geometric shapes, I depict the life layers, background noise and distractions we face in our passage of finding our way.

I'm an Los Angeles based abstract painter with both a Theatre and TV Production Design background. Raised in the San Francisco bay area, my love for painting started at age 8, painting and drawing landscapes. During college I did tourist caricatures in Fisherman's Wharf while designing sets and costumes at the Presido Playhouse and other local theatres. I'm drawn to mid-century modern clean lines and incorporate those elements into my abstract compositions. I experiment with various techniques but am drawn to acrylics with generous layers and textures. My use of color is bold and dramatic, drawing on my theatrical experiences.
