Patient Calm Painting

There is something meditative in the final throws of an evening’s surfing as the waves fall away, the hoards of fellow surfers head in and you are left alone with the warmth of the late sun on your face, a feeling of happy tiredness in your muscles and a reluctance to catch that last small wave home. This is a sensation I love and the inspiration for this painting. Taking an evening walk along Godrevy Beach, on the further side of carbis Bay from St Ives, I witnessed this lone surfer deep in the zen like experience that I instantly identified with and felt compelled to record for others to share or be reminded of.
