About The Artwork

A big, blue abstract mixed media collage statement piece about love and peace, things the world needs more than ever before. The little dove is a symbol for not giving up hope in difficult times. This painting shows a lot of texture due to the process of layering paper, collage, different paints and oil colors, it is partly more shining and partly more matte (see detail photos). Oil, mixed media, collage on 100x100 cm gallery wrapped canvas, unframed, sides painted, no framing needed. Varnished. Hook on the back. If you want to frame the painting it would love a white, silver or wooden floating frame. (c) Gesa Reuter 2020, all rights reserved.

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
