Peacock Dance of Budapest This painting was created after the Hungarian parliamentary elections in April 2022. The ruling party won the elections with a large majority. The government has used this position of power to further override the democratic structures and, by changing the Basic Law, made the parliament superfluous. The “Parliament” is actually broken in two. The poverty of the population is represented by the begging people, deliberately in gray tones. Meanwhile, the prime minister is playing an opaque game on several EU decisions, which the newspapers describe as a peacock dance.
