When my wife and I first started dating, she asked me to paint her a pear. I wanted to make her the best pear ever and sought to put all my passion into it. The outcome turned out to be something greater than I could have imagined. Traveling with us from home to home as our lives grew together, the work always brought us joy, and friends and other home visitors asked many times for a similar painting to bring them the same joy. Based on the original painting, I created a new work on paper to encapsulate the joy of the pear--golds and greens, curving lines, graceful and awkward at the same moment. Let this beautiful work add extra love and joy to your home!

Drew Cooke is a New Orleans artist working in conceptual and representative formats, mainly focusing on interactions between cities and nature, within groups of people, and between his existence and the objects connected to it. His conceptual work, photo collages, and sculptural paintings have been shown at galleries in New York City, New Orleans, and Oklahoma City. Major artistic influences include Robert Rauschenberg, Tim Hawkinson, Walter Anderson and El Anatsui. Degrees in mathematics and English also contribute to the aesthetics and narratives of his works. In 2015, he abandoned 8 years in mathematical analysis and software development to fully return to artistic pursuits. He is currently working on a series of "art proofs" attempting to logically examine assumptions on gun control and economics, and continuing the Repackaged series examining garbage as personal and social history.
