About The Artwork

One of a long series of paintings that I have done using pears. I like using the shape for the way it catches the light. I've rendered many sets of three pears using a harmonious, if not realistic, palette. This group is rendered with an emphasis on the planes of color while keeping within a limited palette. It has a gentle, meditative feel. You might say that it is partially inspired by the quiet composition of the Italian painter Morandi.
