About The Artwork

TORINO, Italia • Artista (Pittura, Scultura) • Nato a 1950 • Biography I have I made my first personal exhibition at the age of 18, way back 1969 in Caltanissetta, Sicily, where I was born. I have exhibited in the most beautiful cities of Italy including: Agrigento, Caltanissetta (1969,71), Palermo (1971), Naples (Castel dell'Ovo 2016), Rome (2015), Macerata (1970), L'Aquila (1971), Rimini (2006), Spoleto (1975), Bologna (Artefiera 1993) Sanremo, Cuneo (1977, 1980), where I have lived since 1979 to 2015, Ferrara (2013) and Turin (2013), where I have settled since 2015. I also exhibited abroad: Hawaii in 2007, in France in Chouze sur Loire, at the Chateau des Museum Reaux (permanent work), and Paris (performance in 2014). For me, painting is investigation, therapy and outlet: I have tried different techniques pictorial and various materials to seek balance and perfection that I haven't found it yet. For many years my favorite theme is the Tree, to which I have dedicated several cycles. "Antonio Presti's long thoughtful, measured pictorial itinerary identifies with a revisited naturalism, with careful research values of color and matter, with a figuration linked to one vision of reality...." (Angelo Mistrangelo). The great Monregalese dialect poet Remigio Bertolino describes well my recent Art in the presentation of my solo show at the Ceramics Museum of Mondovì in 2014: "His images that seem to arise from a spring of dreams and archetypal forms, images of great emotional impact, they transmit to the user "visions" of high poetry..."
