In “Pink” the artist chose to use bold contrasting colors. The painting’s style is a play on pop art where there is a simplification of surface and form. Due to the graphic nature of the green background the grouping of flowers look as if they are floating over the canvas. Green lines crossing over flower petals give the impression of individual blades of grass. It’s this kind of play between the painting’s foreground and background that other more abstract forms take shape. The painting, as with all of Robin Ballard's work, is easy to hang.
