About The Artwork
This art piece is the first piece from the series of works being built under "Plains and Craters" theme. The inspiration comes from the geographical topography of plains and craters. This is an abstract work representing plains with single solid color and craters with a circular brush stroke technique which seems to portray multiple concentric circles similar to impact craters. I have been fascinated with craters and specially viewing Moon craters from my backyard telescope. I have given them some color and expressed them as an art form. This artwork is done on a cotton canvas stretched on wooden bars. Medium of paint is acrylic and permachrome ink to define contours for plains. Screws have been added to the width bars to provide horizontal hanging.
