ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painting autumn vineyards in CA is a delight because the vines turn bronze and golden as the season progresses. I have a friend who lives near this vineyard and I was attracted to the way the road takes you into the painting. The angled rows of vines provide a counter point to the tall Eucalyptus in the foreground. A misty morning in the distance gives the view depth. This painting was completed on location in my impressionist style. The view is a reminder of our fertile land and the delicious results of well tended soil.

Look for contrasts: soft and hard edges, bright and dark colors, thick and thin paint, all laid down with the intention to entertain the eye and stimulate the mind. Out in nature, I experience a spiritual connection. My attempts to recreate the beauty of nature and my relationship to it are both humbling and exciting.
