About The Artwork

Project ¨ONE AND FIVE CHAIRS, Identities in search of the essence¨. About project: Starting from the contemporary reference of the work of Joseph Kosuth, ¨One and three chairs¨, I began to investigates the chair as an object of study from different disciplines, using the female identities associated with them as a common thread. It is memory that is the catalyst for your research. The woman, marked by an extraordinarily confusing generational change between familiar female roles, new feminist influences and masculine work patterns, the center of her interest. Through her artistic practice, I try to dissolve a great profusion of influences and references in an eminently procedural work. Thus arises a project that begins with the photography of certain chairs in their environment that follow one another in a historical line. The treatment, techniques and materials are as different in each work as the aspects they represent are different; memory, emotions, work-life balance, maturity or essence. The ¨fifth chair¨ is shown to us as an abstraction of the exercise of seeking personal balance through the practice of meditation. About ¨Poet's corner¨: It is one of the five works which make up this exhibition project. Acrylic, gold leaf, pencils and markers. On raw chipboard. The man and the nature. The emotion. How nature claims its place and invades man. The poet lets himself be possessed by her. Literature as a refuge. The lyrical.

After my career as a Graphic Designer, I approached painting as a more personal medium; portraits, familiar scenes and inhabited landscapes allowed me a new language. Currently I direct my interest towards Contemporary Art, its study and how to nurture my work with its knowledge. I go out towards the objects that surround us. They are alive and they are testimony of vital moments that belong to the collective of my generation. I enjoy the analysis and definition process prior to production. Then I immerse myself in a meeting place with my hands, papers, paints, markers…; work on the ground, paste, polish, rise to the vertical, doubt and experiment. Styles, techniques and materials crystallize in projects as heterodox as my search, with the precise objective of exploring my own discourse through the work process.
