Where I live is by the sea. On one side we have rich lush bush that clambers up the steep hills and on the other we have the sea which is constantly within view. We have one road in that winds itself a long the coast, in and out of gorgeous little bays. In summer we enjoy the bucolic and colourful nature of a tree that blooms a radiant red flower. It is called a 'Pohutukawa' and its vividness can only make one feel joyous. With the flamboyant red trees the coast and sea exude such a delicious palette of deep sea greens to alluring aquas and fresh pale blues as waves roll gently into the little bays. I feel so blessed to live here and I always feel inspired to paint and capture the whole emotion and then share it with viewers of my artwork. It like offering someone their own private bay with a tempting aqua body of water to dive right on into....pure meditation and escapism. The canvas is painted with loose brush strokes and I paint the 3.5cm depth with the darkest colour I have used in the artwork to help it be totally contained. It is ready to be hung and enjoyed!

New Zealand
In the heart of one of New Zealand’s art districts, modern and figurative artist Annie Hayward lives and works from her studio in Eastbourne, Wellington. Involved in the art world from birth, artist Annie Hayward’s natural talent for painting was encouraged by her father, a French artist and her mother, also artistically inclined. Art and painting is central to her life. The prime mover of creativity in all Hayward’s modern and figurative art and paintings is love and hope. Her source for creativity and inspiration comes from a love of life, human beings, nature, the sea, the weather and animals. Hayward says she mixes this altogether like an artist’s palette and creates magical and surreal paintings that reflect all emotions and always allude to hope. This allows her art to translate well into other mediums such as greeting and gift cards. For many years, artist Annie Hayward has been working as an abstract artist and as a figurative artist. The latter has enabled her to produce a large body of original art and figurative paintings, some in serial format by season, some based on songs and allegories, some on fables, some on a passing sound or view. The figurative art work is now available as original paintings, as prints and as greeting and gift cards. Her abstract work is available in original form. Annie exhibits widely and she has been commissioned for many modern and figurative paintings both in New Zealand and overseas. Her art work is included in many New Zealand and international collections. Shipping of art work can be arranged to any destination.
