VIEW IN MY ROOM
Polar bear and glacier. The stone and Sisyphus’s rock mountain. When the stone is rolled up, it rolls down the rocky mountain again. That's when we can breathe. As Camus said the sense of duty to the rock and the hard work and fear disappear at the moment. like a polar bear looking at a glacier. There are moments like that in life and painting is similar. Repeatedly dead and alive for it. always it’s new and difficult and I am happy to be able to paint. Until I complete a painting, I erase it hundreds of times, throw it away, start new again, spill nosebleeds, my back hurts, lack of eating and sleeping and repeat the labor everyday. It's climbing my own mountain. And when a painting is completed, I have to come down the mountain again. There are moments when my whole energy is gone, too light, and empty as if I had disappeared. But I feel something I found in the mountain. Something filled in my heart. Like after the storm and I see the first sunlight shining in the morning, I paint that moment. September 26, 2021
