Polar Bear Painting

This magnificent polar bear was less than thirty feet from us on the shore moving around a bay in Svalbard. Loping along you forget just how big and fast they can be. Right after this moment, the polar bear took off in a run and jumped in the water swimming to the next bit of shoreline to continue walking. It was watching the bear jump into the water and see how fast they can swim that made us all realize just how close we had been and how fortunate that there was no jump into the water when we observed it.
