About The Artwork

I have left the capital of Hungary, Budapest a few years ago and moved to the Balaton Uplands, into a small village. My paintings are inspired by the changed natural environment, the main theme of my paintings are landscapes, but I do not depict the landscape in the traditional way. Mountains, hills, waters do not get their colors that can be observed in nature, the colours come to life independently in my paintings. I simplify or abstract the image of the seen landscape. Within a painting, I use different painting techniques and painting schools: geometric, geometrically measured surfaces, gestures that lack all sorts of planning, hard edge inspired shapes, gradients, pointillist surfaces, and drawing. As a result, the landscape is transformed to a fictional, constructed image. Different surfaces involuntarily evoke feelings in us. The geometrizing surfaces reflect rigor, the gestures show play or rage, the gradients give lyrical atmosphere. Playing with colors is soothing or irritating our eyes. Such reading of the paintings guides the viewer into the world of emotions. We no longer see lands, mountains, skies, clouds, but anger, serenity, anxiety, rigor and play. The landscape is thus transformed into a kind of soul landscape. The confrontation of the surfaces tells a story about the feelings that are currently swirling in me.

I'm a hungarian painter living and working on the Balaton Uplands. As I moved from the capital to the country, I derive my paintings from nature. I abstract what I see and I use very vivid colours to display my sorrundings and also my feelings. The abstract-landscapes can be red as psichological maps, too :)
