Yair Shoshani is a prominent painter from Brooklyn, New York, who is considered one of the best portrait painters on the East Coast, at the moment. Personalities of royalty, aristocracy, politics, and culture demand his work, constantly. Shoshani was influenced by his grandfather to develop his artistic talent and started his art training at the age of 14. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History of Art from The New York University College of Arts and Science. After graduating, Shoshani went to France and Italy, where he continued his apprenticeship. There he had as mentors some of the most prominent painters of the time. Finally, he opened Shoshani’s Atelier in 1980. Shoshani has been influenced by different painting styles. His artworks, which reflect of mastery of drawing and using light and color, represent a range of soft and gray colors and in which the humid atmosphere of his city is present. Shoshani was inspired mostly by the Basque and French Impressionists. He has the talent to get the best out of each model and capture it on canvas.
