About The Artwork
The scenographer, costume designer and a painter Leon Bakst was an absolutely talented artist. Born in the poor jewish family in Russian Empire he dreamed to paint all the world. For me he is a model of a brave man who had nothing to stop in making art in fashion, decorations and on canvases. Due to his works we know about russian ballet. One of his characters was Shaherezade, the persian princess of a fairy tale "A Thousand and one night", freed from the death the young wives of Shahriyar. Her face you can see on top. Both of them were strong and courageous in their life path and I tried to paint the beauty of this.
