Portrait of a Man with a Blue Cap Painting

It was about eleven or twelve years old when I first say Jan van Eyck's "Portrait of a Man with a Blue Cap" in the Brukenthal museum in Hermannstadt. It might sound like an exaggeration to say that that was the moment I fell in love with Northern art in general, and with van Eyck's work in particular, but I visited the work many times since then and every time it seems almost impossible to leave, to not keep looking at that small depiction of a man in a blue cap, holding a ring. This work is a rather playfull aim to understand my relation to van Eyck's work.
