About The Artwork
I love choppy waters and storms. I love dramatic contrasts with color. I’m also captivated by lighthouses. To me, they represent strength and certainty amid chaos. This is a compilation of images that I’ve seen over the years and the feelings they consistently evoke. I use a lot of glazes in my work. This one has several layers built up to create depth. The tips of some of the white caps were glazed and removed, then glazed again to create luminosity. I also used a knife to add texture to the cliff, as well as in the large wave.
