Prayer Painting

I created this work in self-isolation, when the Corona virus was thrown into another horror of the world, I was drawing with great diligence and desire, as if it were to be the last work. This face and silhouette came to my mind when people were in a great ordeal, they were praying and praying to God, I also tried my best to speak to the Lord about them. At first I thought I would paint a darker and more tormented face, as if I wanted to see a person immersed in my own weakness, but hope and faith can overcome everything, it was added that I was drawing from the prototype of one of the most beautiful Georgian women (Lika Kavzharadze). Be it dark and something vague, dardy or dark. This work also came out as such, reassuring as if he had received an answer from the Lord and knowing how to behave, I think prayer is exactly that. The upper part reminds me more of Rembrandt, while the lower part of El Greco, the head is heavy and illuminated, as if the burden of the mind has been educated and sharpened by prayer, while the body is light and transparent, as it happens after prayer. I tried to be modern, I chose clothes so that many people would recognize themselves. Hopefully the visitor will understand what I have to say and realize that there is no such thing as a hopeless situation and we should always hope in the Lord because He is the help and the way of light, Amen.
