About The Artwork
This painting was based on a drawing I made in Photoshop. As with my Photoshop drawings/prints, I start from scratch, choosing from an array of emotionally-stirring memories or shapes and colors that center my initial marks. For this and other paintings, I start with the Photoshop image, painting free-hand, and then depart from that source and see what happens. Viewers have told me they see a large insect in this work. I see it, too, but if it is there, it wasn't painted intentionally. I hope the viewers enjoy the combination of abstract and representational elements.
