About The Artwork

This artwork of Puerto Madero depicts the architectural contrast of this Buenos Aires area. The red brick docks, which have preserved their historical value, stand out for their age and rustic texture. Next to the modern and glaring buildings around them, the docks are a symbol of the port's history. They have been recycled and their preservation attests the importance of cultural heritage in urban life. On the other hand, the skyscrapers at the back display the relevance of this area as a commercial and financial hub, in view of the ships and sailboats that navigate the docks. Modern and colossal, they drive attention for their elegance and contemporary design. This panoramic view of Puerto Madero in this picture clearly illustrates this contradiction, in a dialogue of styles.

I am an architect, deeply interested in the exploration of the urban. I seek to capture the constitutive elements of cities (buildings, cars, streets, lights), and propose a NEW MORPHOLOGY based on them. A rupture with the real and true image of each place reflects its essence through an ABSTRACTION, where nothing is defined. This lack of definition is closely linked to the MOVEMENT of cities. The atmosphere is noisy and dynamic; time accelerates and the excess of concrete relays a cold and dehumanized feeling. I aspire to represent these anonymous spaces of transit, from an urbanistic and pedestrian-centered perspective. I aim to demonstrate the CONTRADICTORY SENSATIONS of the viewer, which sway between a sense of belonging to that dynamic world and the emptiness of this dehumanized atmosphere.
