About The Artwork
Since 2008 I have been focusing my attention drawing on crushed or crumpled paper. I then started to seek for more insight about the medium "paper" itself. I started making my own paper. There's an entire science behind such beauty. I therefore tried to move away from figurative drawings and paintings to focus more on the 3D texture of reliefs and the flatness of an artwork. Keeping it minimal seems to be a constant challenge with every piece. Paper is individually unique like all living beings. Therefore the understanding is vital towards everything. Paper is also similar towards trust. Once crushed, it can never attain its intial form without leaving its edges behind. Manipulating paper on a canvas, then apply paint to redefine the form helps transform it into a refurbished beauty.
