About The Artwork

My designs are inspired by the laws of nature and forms found in the energy and culture of the Nordic countries. The name of the painting is translated as Puuteri - powder, huone - room. "Puuterihuone" is an interpretation of a part of a facade with a sign, a building in the historic center of Helsinki, Finland, the task of creating an urban atmosphere. Where every building in the city has an individual patina reminiscent of watercolor blur and vintage elements. Through the prism of the city, I convey imagery to the picture. In this work, I used decorative plaster and acrylic paints, cardboard, epoxy resin. It uses foam board as a base, thus reducing the problem of weight, strength and format. To strengthen the structure, a specially configured wooden frame was constructed, so that the picture would be inserted into it and then glued together. Then it was decorated with epoxy resin in the color of the font composition, uniting the design of the work. The picture has hanging fittings and is ready to be hung. The basis of my concept is the severity of lines, dynamics of composition, restraint of colors, contrast of texture, play of matte and glossy elements. In 2019. "Puuterihuone" exhibited at the Flowers and Shapes exhibition dedicated to the urban environment in St. Petersburg, Russia. Adhering to the Scandinavian style, the picture can easily fit into the interiors of neoclassicism, modern, Scandinavian minimalism, loft. Integrating the history and culture of northern design into the space.

Liamin Mikhail is an artist of abstract art, in his works he combines Scandinavian design and the history of architecture. Mikhail Liamin was born in St. Petersburg in 1992. From a young age he studied art practice. Since 2007 took interior orders for wall paintings. Since 2010 he studied the skills of the school of restorers of monumental painting of the Academy. A.L. Stieglitz, becoming a master in 2016. The search for an individual style leads to stage design: Scandinavian, neoclassical, industrial and loft interiors. To date, Mikhail has over a hundred completed projects under his belt, including the restoration of World Heritage monuments: the Trinity-Izmailovsky Cathedral and the Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt. Restoration and interior activities have formed a special position in art, combined history and design. Forming ideas, Mikhail focuses on the feelings of a person on a spase. He approaches the creation of works as a researcher. Creating works in the Scandinavian style, Mikhail adheres to a narrow color palette, pastel shades. In her work, she uses embossed plasters and glazing paints, as well as epoxy resins when creating font compositions. Comprehensively conveying the refined texture of the old facade, filling the space with a feeling of unobtrusive luxury. A combination of architectural delights and graphic design formed the mass of his works. According to the author, there is much in common between the plaster of the walls and theatrical scenery; inspiration comes from toponymic observations: "- Once walking in the center of Helsinki (Finland) in search of new ideas, I am the peculiarities of the city's architecture. My attention is the attractive coloring of pastel shades and textures. Each building has vintage elements and an individual patina reminiscent of watercolors. Signs were in harmony with the facades, panoramic windows reflecting the details of the streets, emphasizing the fashionableness of the area. The unity of the Northern Art Nouveau architectural style gave rise to the feeling of an open-air museum. Along with all museums in the world, the task of my art is to enrich the inner world of the viewer. In my projects, I embody inspiration from beauty, its cultural significance, its importance in shaping the urban environment. My designs are inspired by the laws of nature and forms found in the energy and culture of the Nordic countries.
