About The Artwork

PYKNATOMEN [so Ernest Haeckel called the atoms, endowed with movement and sensibility, which he considered constitutive elements of every form of being, as produced by the condensation (pyknosis) of primitive matter (Welträtsel, 1899; trans. ital., 1904, p. 296 et seq.)]. The name of this work and the subsequent series was obtained from a Dadadaist process: I randomly opened Nicola Abbagnano's Dictionary of Philosophy and, without looking at the page, I dropped the stylus, which settled on the entry Picnatomem. This is a work about color, and to talk about this phenomenon I will quote the words of a master: KANDINSKY. Of the spiritual in Art; chap.5 - Color action: From a strictly physical point of view, the eye senses color. He experiences its properties, is fascinated by its beauty. Joy penetrates the viewer's soul, tastes it with gourmet, a delicacy. In addition to the physical phenomenon, color provokes a psychic vibration, which reaches and refines the spectator's aesthetic sensitivity and visual perception. Keys: Color; chromatic harmony relationships; complementarity; harmonic chromatic chords and dissonant chromatic chords.
