This diptych is comprised of two panels where each panel is of a different size. The are pyramids to the left of the composition that are echoed to the right in a more abstract manner, rising up into the sky. To the centre there are some leaves descending of a honey suckle vine.

I was keen to capture the essence of light in a dramatic, almost explosive manner, as well as create a sense of movement through sweeping brushstrokes to make the surface 'alive'.

Simon Boyd, born in London 1978, studied Fine Art at Middlesex, 1997-2001. He has lived in Argentina since 2007. Simon has held solo shows in both Argentina and the UK; ‘The Jousters Banquet’ at the British Arts Centre, Buenos Aires, in 2009 and ‘Also Light…’ at Anteros Arts Foundation, Norwich, 2023 to name a few. He has also participated in the International Contemporary Art Biennial, Buenos Aires, in 2016. A key inspiration for the colour and depth of his work is the South American landscape of La Pampa. Simon's use of palette echoes the sense of vitality and purity the landscape there evokes.
