This painting is born around Ascension day.
Quel que chose La Haut means; There is something above....
I was touched by this sentence in one book of the story of Vincent van Gogh, a famous painter from Holland. Before he was a professional painter he studied theology. He was a believer and thought many times about God and his personal life and wrote many letters and sermons.

I started to paint a group of people while there where staring at the sky while Jesus left.
The master told them to wait for the Spirit of the Lord. Where the Spirit is, there is freedom.

Welcome at Saatchi, in my online galery. . Since 2004 I paint professionally in my own studio, at the moment again in Holland. I followed different painting courses in Holland and abroad. For eleven years I worked as a teacher at the primary school. More than three years ago, in 2014, I decided to quit as a schoolteacher and choose for a year off. The way leads me to Turkey. First for a holiday and later I moved to a small authentique village at the West coast of Turkey. I've lived among the local people, made friends and had nice contacts. I've learned a lot about the lovely Turkish culture. Enjoyed the beautiful nature and fell in love with the authentique kilims and carpets! A selection of those vintage kilims are for sale at Etsy. During my time in Turkey, almost three years, I developed my paintingskills and new paintings where born there. You can see them here at Saatchi. Enjoy and I hope you feel the same feeling as I have when i'm in contact with my art.
