ABOUT THE ARTWORK
As I child I loved making brass rubbings. I decided to use a similar technique in this work with the symbols, rubbing black paint over the duo tone red symbols and background. The African symbols in the background are designed to create positive energy in the hanging environment. They mean things such as "abundance," "hope," "love," courage," "protection," "strength," "friendship," "teamwork," etc. As an African, I respect and honor it's wildlife.
