About The Artwork
"Ray of Sunshine" is an original high texture abstract oil painting measuring 8 x 8 x 1.5 inches, painted using professional grade oil paint on cotton canvas and stretched over a wood frame. The painting is sealed with a final coat of high-gloss varnish for protection. All sides are staple free, painted, and finished making it ready to hang. Signed, titled, and dated on the back. The Inspiration: Much of my work plays on the elements of texture and movement, a piece like “Ray of Sunshine” specifically emphasizes the textural elements that naturally come along with my oil paintings. With the absence of light, contrast, or color I have to make every brush stroke count – building complex layers of texture in a rich black oil paint. “My hope is not to be seen, but to be experienced. A brief biography: Meredith B. is a self-taught oil and acrylic painter who currently calls Indianapolis, Indiana home. While she was a casually artistic person her entire life, it wasn’t until 2015 that art became a more active pursuit. After facing the life changing diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis and a chemotherapy treatment that would last indefinitely, painting was like a long-lost friend that Meredith found strength and comfort in. Now, with her disease under control, Meredith finds inspiration in every beautiful aspect of her life: loved ones, music, fellow artists she admires, and the cities she has experienced through traveling. Her work will consistently play on elements of motion and texture to invoke an emotional response from viewers. Her styles range from impressionist, modern and abstract with a special talent for commissioned work unique to individual needs. “My hope is not be seen, but be experienced.
