Reconcilable Differences Painting

Reconcilable Differences depicts the silhouette of a woman full of flowers offering lava to a silhouette of a man full of an erupting volcano. This piece is inspired by the push-and-pull physics of intimacy versus self-preservation. The deep desire to be changed by a partner versus the need for solitude. The anxiety that comes with relationships versus the agony of aloneness. The reason I chose the title for this piece is because I believe opposing forces often enhance each other. Love is a configuration of reconcilable differences. Also, the background of the painting features a gemstone pattern. When volcano lava meets earth, it forms precious gems. Made in 2014, debuted at RAW Artists group showcase at LMNT. Miami, Florida.
