Red Harvest Painting

I have an instinctive fascination for medical imagery, exploring an inbuilt desire to observe and understand the shapes and forms of human anatomy and how they interact with each other. My research has led me to St. Bartholomew’s hospital, London where I attend cardiac surgeries, documenting my experiences through photography and sound which translate into painting. The paintings draw comparisons with the essence of baroque religious painting, and how the power of image can elicit an emotional and psychological response. Painted in oil on canvas with bold expressive marks coupled with graphic detail. Art and medicine have had an essential relationship throughout the ages, I now contribute my own addition.
