About The Artwork

Nature is the greatest artist and creates fantastic patterns. I love looking at nature in a slightly less typical way. I like nature/plants, drawing, painting and graphics - it seems to me that all these elements combine in my paintings. I used acrylic, stretched canvas and an acrylic marker. Part of the surface is covered with a special medium. The effect is raised black dots like sand / small grains. This painting has 4 cm wide sides. They are painted so a frame is not necessary. The picture is ready to hang. Please note that the colours in the photos may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.

I am a versatile person in daily life and the same applies to my approach to art. I explore different techniques, diverse materials and subjects but my favourite theme is nature, mainly flowers. I also love geometric abstractions. For me, creating is a constant passion, pleasure and fun. When creating, I feel like a child on a playground who is interested in all toys and cannot play with just one. “Herstein paints botanical imagery and floral elements that remind us of the flamboyant linearism of Art Nouveau (…) and the formal stylization and synthetic colourism typical of computer graphic designers. This artist’s world shows vibrant historical and artistic roots but keeps pace with the latest developments of contemporary art research. (…) Her flowers seem living, almost carnal creatures and convey a sense of vitality and of femininity.” - Elena Di Raddo, art critic and historian, Specula exhibition.
