The idea of 'rereading' interests the artist on many levels, in the same way that she feels that text/ words/ letters can be absorbed in many forms. A glance through, taking things on face value, then a possibility to delve deeper and find something else quite different.

This large scale painting on paper was created on the wall, for the artist this inspires a physical connection and the use of the whole body, a sense of movement and sensation of surface and materials. As ever the artist has a dislike of forward planning or carefulness, the painting must be allowed to drive itself or the whole thing gets predictable and dull.

The work is unframed and shipped in a double tube for safety and shipping economy.

b 1971 UK Self taught artist working with many mediums but liking paint the best. Painting is just a language that I am more comfortable with, it has an honesty, it is what it is. My work is very unprocessed, direct, I don't see as I paint , just look at it sometime later, then start again or leave it alone until another time. I work with layers, building them up and scraping back, finding stuff I had forgotten about, the painting starts to get interesting, to develop its own past. The word paintings write themselves with no restraint, if I'm not sure I keep writing over, but ultimately the words, however buried, have been said.
