“Resplandor” Painting

María Victoria Vázquez (1989) is a Uruguayan artist. She discovered a passion for art early in life; at the age of 8 she learned her first strokes with Tunda Prada, a journey that later took her to many and varied workshops, including those with Clever Lara and Ivonne Soza. She graduated from the Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño (Center for Design University), with concentration in Industrial Design and with studies in Interior Design. She began to dedicate herself entirely to painting in 2015 after having worked in several design companies. She currently works on her art in her atelier "Amarillo Casa de Arte" (Yellow Art House) in El Pinar, Uruguay, where she teaches weekly classes and workshops. She also creates collections of paintings for private clients. María Victoria defines her work as "brushstrokes in motion" inspired by the flight of birds and under the concept of Letting Go. This concept changed her life, allowing her to fully launch into painting, and nowadays she seeks to convey the powerful meaning of it. Letting go as a way of life: trust, release, fly, give space to receive and be yourself. In its inception, acrylic paint is mixed with materials such as oil pastel, modeling paste, alcohol, and a lot of water. Glazing after glazing, the effects take shape and each brushstroke is unique. The abstract and figurative mix to give rise to sensations of air and etheriness. Her works have been exhibited at Hotel Conrad Uruguay, specific events in Montevideo and Punta del Este, Uruguay, she has been featured in MonteCarlo TV, and in San Isidro Argentina, representing the country with the organization Aves Uruguay.
