About The Artwork
The movement of the ocean is so magical. Really everything about the ocean is fascinating. The way your body sways when you're standing waist deep in the water; it's hypnotic and mesmerizing. That fleeting pink glow as the sun dips beyond the horizon and dreams are had. "Retreats of Water" unfolds just so and captures a late summer's day on canvas. The painting is signed on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. I coat my work twice with UV Archival Varnish to protect the painting and place felt pads on the back to protect the wall. The artwork is on canvas and all four sides are painted and ready to hang. Shipping Details: To protect against moisture, the artwork is first wrapped in glassine paper and then either covered with plastic sheeting/poly wrap or put inside a heavy plastic bag. The artwork ships in a reinforced cardboard box. All four corners of the painting are encased in foam and the piece is thrice bubble wrapped.

I am an abstract painter expressing my work by exploring the relationship between nature and our environment. Using dialogue between the two can be my best source of inspiration. The tactility of multiple textures and building of layers, are the backbones of my pieces. The severity of the elements can age and weather and create the most interesting designs. The distressed look of patina on metal and dilapidating walls intrigues me by their abstract surfaces and patterns. These textures and layers give depth and dimension to my paintings and are common elements in all my series. I currently live and work in the Berkshires on Western Massachusetts.
