Ripening Barley Painting

Before midsummer's evening, when the asparagus season is officially over, its possible to go to the farm and buy the produce straight from the grower. At this time of year, the fields are full of barley, turning slowly from the bright threads of late spring, to the whispery golden seas of the ripening crop. Claire is from Norfolk, UK, and studied at the Norwich School of Art, and the Universities of Lancaster and Oxford. A synaesthete with a particular sense for colour and sound, she uses music as a starting point for many pieces. Soundscapes, Landscapes and Mindscapes have become instruments for expressing emotion and understanding.
