About The Artwork
"Ritratto di gentiluomo" is a painting by Caravaggio currently on display in Montepulciano at the Civic Museum. I made a portrait study in oils of the work. I have always been inspired by the work of the great master, Caravaggio. I hope the viewer will, appreciate the fluidity of my technique and the accuracy of the depiction. I chose oil paints because of the luminosity of the pigment and also because it allows the painter to get loose and expressive. If you love this painting, please make a fair offer.
