About The Artwork
This is a view of Skagit River that I have returned to paint in different weather conditions. I am searching for a fresh way to depict this everchanging yet constant flow of water. This time, I decided to challenge myself to look for the vibrant colors hidden in the landscape on this grey day. The yellows and crimsons in the foreground provide warmth while the bold brushwork give the painting a bold energy. I enjoy the resulting contrast between the subdued, stormy background and the sunny, vibrant foreground.
