About The Artwork
Acrylic on Canvas with Creation Animation. Part of a painting and video series called "Beyond Static", "Robot Battle" is a statement of abstract expressionist, developed as a piece devoted to skill, technique and personal aesthetic. Each layer of paint applied is recorded as a hi-res still with the ability to be printed. The stills were formed to create an animation and "Borders" is the final product. The intent is to show the depth of the pieces by finely exhibiting the layers upon layers of paint over what could easily be considered a finished piece. The reverse notion is explored by creating layers with "simple" figures that we knew would be added to.
