My silk painting is dedicated to the Russian pilot Roman Rusinov, Le Mans marathon participant, a member of the Russian G-Drive Racing team. He has been taking part in the 24-hour Le Mans marathon since 2013. The main milestones of Roman's sports career are woven into the clouds. It began in 1997 in France and is associated with karting. Despite the fact that 1997 did not bring victory to the young and ambitious race car driver, it became a landmark for Roman. Having devoted the entire next year to preparation, in 1998 Roman Rusinov returned to France to become the bronze medalist of the French Grand Prix Essonne Karting Championship. That is why, somewhere in the clouds, the outlines of the Eiffel Tower appear. In 1998 Roman won the ELF competition and made his Formula debut, becoming one of the participants in the Formula Campus Junior Championship. Playing for the La Filiere ELF team, at the end of the season he got into the top ten, becoming one of the best newcomers in the championship. Here, in the clouds, you can find a reference to the French championship in the Formula Renault 2000 class, where Roman competed with the Graff Racing team. Rusinov became the first Russian driver to win an international series race, winner of Renault's international finals and won the international finals in Valencia. In the individual standings he became the seventh, in the standings for juniors - the vice-champion. The cloud chronicle also mentions Roman's victory in the European Le Mans Series in 2018. The rising sun behind Roman Rusinov's back is a symbol of his rising career. The sun is a symbol of masculinity and creative energy. The rays of the sun are formed by alternating left and right palms, which mean physical (right) and spiritual (left) strength. This is a kind of allegory of harmony and a reminder that the basis of any success is balance. The hand has long been considered a powerful symbol, a talisman. She was present as a motive even in rock art. The sun from numerous hands can be interpreted as the support of numerous fans of Roman Rusinov. As Roman himself has repeatedly said in his interviews, the support of the fans is very important for him and his team. The most attentive viewers will find Roman's crew number G-Drive # 26 in one of the palms. The dominant colors in the work are gold and red. Red is a symbol of courage. Red stimulates, gives confidence, readiness for action, promotes a statement of strength and opportunity. Red is also associated with love, beauty and fullness of life. Gold is primarily the color of victory. Gold is chosen by strong, independent and self-confident people. They say that gold is frozen drops of sunlight.

My name is Daria Tikhomirova and I live and work in Barcelona. I'm inspired a lot by silk and I mostly work with this fabric. I love its' softness, transparency. It made me think if silk paintings with 3D effect. You may find one in my profile, it's "Russian Seasons in Paris" with 5 ballerinas. There are two layers of silk that create this effect of third dimension. I love ballet and I have a series of works with ballet dancers. I participated in the Salon des Artistes Français in 2016 and in Drouot sales (organised by musee MoLA). In 2018 I took part in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants in the Grand Palais (Paris). I regularly take part in exhibitions in Russia.
