Rosa? Painting

"unknown people from parallel worlds" Next to my regular work I am currently working on a series of portraits made after different pictures, found on internet, in books, etc. from different times, different places, and different social backgrounds. Starting with one pictue as a basis and then using e.g. the hair, the nose, the eyes, or other parts from the next. In this way I want to create new characters, in their own time and space, with their own thoughts. I chose gouache as medium, because I wanted to work fast, and also because I wanted to examine the possibilities of this paint. I use black & white because it enhances the idea of real portraits, and for aesthetic reasons: I just like it. The blacks I use are always made form a mixture of blue, yellow and red, to prevent 'holes' in the images. -Paper is 380 grams (thick)
