About The Artwork
an old man had a small stall at the St Michel market on saturday mornings with potatoes, carrots and odd vegetables, He also had a bucket of his garden roses, thorny and redolent which a friend and i snapped up each week loading on to our heavily laden bicycles. This is one of a series of paint sketches on paper that i did of each weeks offering to the mantel.
