Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic, Spray Paint, Ink, Digital on Canvas.

Acrylic, acrylic based medium, archival varnish UV protection, oil, fabrics, and archival pigment prints (collage) on canvas. The artwork comes ready to hang.

Essentially the work emerges from the physical process of painting, painting over, wiping out, turning the canvas around, printing, masking, scraping, pouring, scratching, and sanding. Underneath the layers of abstraction, one detects fragments of texts and figurative presences that jump to the surface like a jack-in-the-box. Painting with both ends of the brush, fingers, and mixing all sorts of medium and pigments like gold, silver and copper with oil paint to build up layers of textured surface, the canvas works like a palimpsest for the painterly gesture.
