Run Niki Run Painting

The inspiration for this painting came to me many years ago when I saw this wonderful German movie: “Run Lola Run’’. I kept the repetition of ‘run’ in the title to show the urgency the Louvre removed the statue of Nike or Victory of Samothrace from the museum. I was not a fan of the video that Beyonce filmed there at the Lourve in front of the statue. I felt that it was irreverent and insincere to one of the most famous museums in the world. Thus, I felt Niki needed to just run away from that place. The painting has a variety of blue colors in the background, to imply that the escape will be done in the night. Those dark blues remind me of the colors and beauty of Paris.
